RGS-IBG Postgraduate Forum Website Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

For website users – Forum Posts and Comments

Anyone with a .ac.uk email address may create an account on the PGF website. Those without a .ac.uk address may request an account using the contact form, and will be granted an account unless it is obvious that they intend to contravene the AUP.
Forum posts and comments may be made by anyone with a user account; these can be constructive or critical, but must not be intended to cause offence (this includes use of offensive language, invasion of privacy, or antagonism towards an individual or group of individuals).
Forum posts and comments should not include commercial advertising or matters of personal interest not considered pertinent to geographical postgraduate research.
Forum posts and comments which are deemed unacceptable according to these criteria may be removed from the forum. Repeated contravention may result in the user’s account being suspended.

For editors and contributors – Articles

Anyone with ’contributor’ or ‘editor’ status is able to add articles to the PGF website.
Articles should be specifically aimed at and relevant to geography postgraduates.
Articles should not include commercial advertising or matters of personal interest not considered pertinent to geographical postgraduate research.
Articles may include details of relevant events (conferences / seminars / training events etc) Calls for Papers should not be published but users may be signposted to relevant conference websites.
Articles may include details of relevant funding opportunities (make sure postgrads are eligible to apply before posting).
New articles trigger an automatic email to the entire membership. Therefore content should be thoroughly proof-read before posting. Alterations to articles can be made later, but emails cannot be ‘unsent’.
